The Billings Public Library One Book Billings program seeks to provide a forum for library patrons to read and discuss in small groups regional authors and/or literary works which examine and reflect life on the High Plains, especially Montana.

The One Book Billings program from Billings Public Library, under a grant from the Billings Public Library Foundation, announces its schedule for 2015-2016. Discussion groups come together five times a year (every other month from September to May) to discuss the same book. Books are provided courtesy of the Billings Public Library Foundation to registered participants about four weeks before the scheduled session. The discussions are led by experienced discussion leaders and are held in locations all over Billings during a single week (Monday thru Thursday).

This year’s selections are a variety of types – four novels, and a non-fiction work. All the books are by Montana authors, or are about Montana. This is an interesting and challenging series and that those of you who have taken part in the past will want to do so again and ask your friends to join in. Those who haven’t yet taken part will find a great reason to give this community-wide program a try.

There will be six sessions for each book spread around the Billings community during the week. When possible, the Library will bring authors to Billings for informal discussions about their book on the Saturday after the sessions.

Please call 657-8258 or stop by the 2nd floor Help Desk for more information on the most recent One Book Billings selection.
