Distracted Driving

Committee Overview
The Distracted Driving Ad- Hoc Committee was formed by the Billings City Council on November 9, 2009. The committee was created to plan a coordinated campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of being distracted while driving by using cell phones or other electronic devices, and to create an ordinance that would compliment the campaign.

Member Composition
The committee is composed of:
  • 2 City Council members
  • 1 member of the auto insurance industry
  • 1 member of the cellular telephone industry
  • 1member from RiverStone Health
  • 1 staff member each from School District #2 and Montana State University-Billings or the College of Technology
  • 1 student member each from School DIstrict #2 and Montana State University-Billings or the College of Technology
  • 2 members of the public
