The Billings Metro VISTA Project Veterans Project was created in 2013 to address the needs of homeless veterans. The Veterans project involved the creation of a Veterans Survey that asked questions about veterans’ biggest needs, service utilization, etc.
The survey was conducted January 24 through February 16, 2014 to garner information regarding local veteran homelessness and poverty issues. The survey was administered at Billings Community Connect and various outreach locations and results will be used to create, enhance, or partner with current programs and initiatives to meet identified needs.
The 2014 Veteran Survey Report is available here. The three largest needs identified for veterans experiencing homelessness and / or poverty were housing, transportation, and employment. The B-MVP Veterans Project is currently working to address these three needs. A PowerPoint outlining the survey results can be found here.
