Crime Prevention Center
The Crime Prevention Center provides opportunities for those who wish to volunteer with the Billings Police Department. With only 9 officers patrolling the streets on each shift, our volunteers are essential to the department. We encourage all residents of Billings to learn more about us and help expand our program and better serve our city.
The volunteers programs at the Crime Prevention Center include the Report Writing Center, Volunteer Patrol Unit, and Neighborhood Watch.
- Contacting victims of vandalism, theft, and lost or found property.
- Writing incident reports of vandalism, theft, or abandoned vehicles
- Tow and issue citations for abandoned vehicles
- Issue citations for illegal handicapped parking

Many people assist the Library as volunteers, and the Library is very grateful for their help. You can find an option that suits your style and the time you have available.
Volunteers perform a number of activities, including:
- Assisting with computer usage and technology
- Assisting at children's activities, teen or adult programs
- Offering tours of the library
- Preparing new materials for the shelves
The Teen TECH Lab is a digital media learning lab equipped with a wide array of technology, media, and art supplies. College students can volunteer as mentors to the teens by assisting them with projects and peer support. Community members and professionals can volunteer in the TECH Lab to teach workshops in areas of their expertise.

The Billings Parks and Recreation Department works closely with a variety of individuals, organizations and groups to further enhance outdoor services for the citizens of Billings. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals or large groups, as well as one time service engagements or ongoing volunteer commitments.
Examples of volunteer opportunities include:
- Volunteer Park Ranger
- Volunteer Bike Patrol
- Cleaning parks and trails
- Graffiti removal
- Planting trees
Community outreach efforts take various forms from partnerships to volunteer engagement. The contributions of all the community partners and volunteers are greatly appreciated and have a significant impact on the quality of life in Billings.
