Central Avenue Road Improvements will reconstruct Central Avenue from Shiloh Road to 32nd Street West. The improvements include: widening Central Avenue to a five-lane section; a roundabout at 36th Street West (including a connection on 36th Street West to the south); a roundabout at 38th Street West; 5-foot sidewalk along the north side of Central Avenue; 10-foot multi-use trail along the south side of Central Avenue; and street lighting throughout. Status updates for the project are shown below:
All private utility companies (Northwestern Energy, MDU, Yellowstone Valley Electric, CenturyLink, Spectrum, etc.) are currently relocating their facilities to eliminate conflicts with the City’s project. This work is on-going throughout the length of project.
32ND TO 36TH STREETS WEST:
The contractor is finalizing the storm drain lateral connections on the north side of Central Avenue. Road excavation and preparation for road reconstruction will start next week.
36TH STREET WEST TO SHILOH:
This section of road is currently closed until August 23rd. The contractor is in the midst of full road excavation. The project storm drain mainline will be constructed in this section next week, and the new road base will be constructed on top of it.
