1. Why did a fire engine respond when I called for an ambulance?

All firefighters are trained as Emergency Medical Technicians. The fire stations are located throughout the City for short response times. Most of the time the fire engine will arrive before the ambulance and the firefighters can begin patient care.

If you plan on burning, a permit is required. To apply for a permit, if you live within the City limits, please call the Fire Prevention Bureau at (406) 657-8423. To apply for a permit, if you live in Yellowstone County, please call the Yellowstone Air Quality Control at (406) 256-6841.
