SEASONAL SERVICE WORKER

MET TRANSIT

This position will assist MET facility and vehicle maintenance personnel. This individual will service vehicles with fuel, oil, transmission fluid and anti-freeze; clean interiors of buses and vans; assist with minor repairs on building equipment; perform grounds maintenance (lawn mowing, snow removal, etc.); steam clean bus engines, fuel tanks and wheels; lube and check wheelchair lift chains; clean bus/van condensers, evaporators and filters; clean bus HVAC duct work; clean shop work areas, floors and restrooms; assist mechanics on road calls and preventative maintenance.

The successful applicant must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, twist, climb, push, pull and lift 75 lbs.; and be exposed to cold, heat, noise, odors, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical and electrical hazards.

The employment period will be from November 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013. Standard working hours are 1:30pm to 9:30pm, Monday – Friday.

This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, along with a Department of Justice Criminal check.

Salary: $10.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
