Bicycle Registration
Why Register Your Bike?
Registering your bike will assist local law enforcement in identifying your bicycle in the event that it is lost or stolen. You will receive (or be mailed) a numbered decal that is to be placed on your bike. The number will be kept on file at the Police Department. In the event that your bike is lost or stolen, the Police will be able to identify your bike from this number and return your bike to you. This service is free of charge.

The Billings Police Department recommends that you place the decal on a visible part of your bike, such as below the seat on the frame of the bicycle.

Download and completely fill in the Bicycle Registration form.

Fax the form to the Crime Prevention Center at (406) 247-8592 or mail it to:

Be Safe On Your Bike

  • Always wear a helmet.
  • Wear proper clothing.
  • Make sure your bike is adjusted properly.
  • Check brakes before riding.
  • Ride with traffic - keep to the right of the road.
  • Be aware of the traffic around you.
  • Stay alert - keep a look-out for obstacles in your path.
  • Obey all traffic signals.
