Annually, the City chip seals approximately 20 miles of residential and collector streets and resurfaces (overlays) approximately three miles of arterial streets.
The 2004 crack seal and chip seal project was scheduled to begin in mid July and continue throughout the summer. The resurfacing (overlay) project began in late July and continued through August and September.
The major overlay areas were:
- Montana Avenue from Central Avenue to Division Street
- Central Avenue from Montana to Santa Fe
- Lewis Avenue from 16th Street West to 24th Street West
- 16th Street West from Grand Avenue to Broadwater Avenue
- 15th Street West from Grand Avenue to Avenue D
