Announcements:

The Billings Municipal Court seeks to ensure our staff’s safety and safety to the public. The Billings Municipal Court has taken proactive steps to reduce foot traffic in the courthouse. Due to the COVID-19 precautions now in place by the Yellowstone County Unified Health Command, the Billings Municipal Court has taken the following actions:

Courtrooms

Social distancing is in effect in the courtrooms and a limited number of people are allowed in the courtrooms.  Litigants are requested not to bring additional family members or friends, unless you are under the age of 18.  Minors must be accompanies by a parent or legal guardian.  All parties are required to sanitize their hands prior to entering the courtroom.

Face Coverings

The court is enforcing face coverings.  The court will provides these upon request.

Screenings

Individuals appearing at court will be subjected to a temperature check.

Illness

Please contact the court to reschedule your appearance if you are experiencing signs of illness.

Front Counter

The front counter is available for in-person filings and payment of fines; however, social distancing mandates are in effect and limited amount of people are allowed at the front counter.

Payments

Option 1.  Pay through our online Cite-Pay system https://www.citepayusa.com/payments/welcome.do?state=MT 

Option 2.  Submit payment through the drop box outside the court.

Option 3.  Make payment at counter.

Walk-in Arraignments

The court will be allowing a limited number of walk-ins at this time.  Monday and Friday at 9:00 am only.  First come, first serve basis.

Video Arraignments

 

The court is accepting video requests for initial appearances and scheduled appearances (Warrants, DUI’s, TRO’s, and PFMA are excluded from video arraignments) only. Please email bmc-questions@billingsmt.gov or call (406) 657-8490 to request that your scheduled appearance be held via video.  Video confirmation can be found on our website, under zoom confirmation. 

New Traffic Citation

You may be able to resolve your citation by going to our online Cite-Pay system and paying your fine in full.  All citations handled via CITEPAY will receive a 6 month deferred imposition of sentence. A deferred imposition of sentence means that in 6 months, if you have not had any other tickets and fines/fees are paid in full, you will not receive any points on your driving record..
