Knife River will be milling the east end of Midland Road next Monday and Tuesday. They are starting at 5:00 A.M. Monday to get away from S Billings Blvd before the heavier traffic times. They will also likely be doing a couple curb and gutter runs between Maggie Lane and Song Bird next week. They are hoping to complete another section of sidewalk in front of the Billings operations Center. Castlerock Excavating is continuing the installation of storm drain to the west.
Update: April 24, 2018
The reconstruction of Midland Road between South Billings Blvd and Mullowney Ln is starting Tuesday (April 24th) and will likely run through the end of September. The improvements will include a new roadway with widening, storm drain, street lights, and trail/sidewalk. The current schedule is to start construction operations at Maggie Lane moving in a westerly direction for approximately 2-3 months. They will be leaving the road on the east end coming off of South Billings Blvd in place during that 2-3 month duration. Two way traffic will be maintained as well as business access but City traffic to the Billings Ops Center and other City facilities are advised to use South Billings Blvd to access Midland Road. The casino and local hotel/motels at the west end of the project would be best accessed from Mullowney Ln for the duration of the project. Please watch out for equipment and personnel and follow the reduced speed limits. Thank You!
