The Billings Fire Department is committed to the safety of our citizens. We are working hand in hand with the Yellowstone County Unified Health Command to make sure our community is protected to the highest possible standards for the current Novel Corona Virus situation.

Updated spread of the virus from the CDC is located on this site. We are closely monitoring any changes in infection spread and the current best practices model. We will continue to follow this situation as it unfolds and update our operations as necessary to protect our firefighters and citizens. The most up to date information can be found on the Centers for Disease Control’s web site.

Per directives by the Governor of Montana, it is highly encouraged and required to wear face coverings on all persons 5 years and older to help slow the spread of COVID-19 when visiting businesses, government offices, and other indoor spaces open to the public. The directives also requires face coverings at organized outdoor activities of 50 or more people, where social distancing is not possible or is not observed. Proper mask use includes covering the mouth and nose while remaining inside these spaces. Information for proper face covering and Governor's directives.

We remind citizens that the current practice of good infection control habits is the best way to protect you and your family. Washing your hands often with warm water and soap. Using a 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer when you can not wash with soap and water. Covering your cough and sneeze and staying home if you exhibit flu like symptoms. Again, more tips and information can be found at the CDC website.
