Members of the public are invited to attend the second in a series of public meetings held to provide an opportunity to learn about and provide input on the City of Billings MET Transit Development Plan regarding transit service in the community. The meeting will be facilitated by both City personnel and staff from SRF Consulting and DOWL.
This is the second in a series of public meetings to help update the Transit Development Plan. The primary purpose of this public meeting is to introduce ideas being discussed as changes to transit service and gather input as to which ideas are supported by the community.
Ideas to be discussed include:
- Revising current routes to improve convenience and connectivity
- Adding hours of service
- Adjusting route schedules to make them easier to understand
- Reducing the time between buses on routes that support more frequency
The purpose of the transit plan is to: work with residents and community leaders to understand strengths and weaknesses of the current Billings MET Transit system, identify desirable changes to the system to better serve current customers and potential users, and prepare a plan of vehicle, facility, and service concepts that meet community needs and can be funded today and into the future.
The meeting will be held at the Billings Community and Senior Center located at 360 North 23rd Street on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The meeting will open house format, so members of the public may attend at their convenience to discuss the effort with staff. Questions or comments may also be submitted by contacting the project manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or (402)350-7783 or by visiting www.mettransit.com/survey.
