City of Billings Public Works shares yard storm debris collection map

debris image

Storm removal mapHere’s a look at the City of Billings Public Works map for storm debris collection. The crew will begin pickup on Saturday, July 30th at 6 a.m. in zone one. The route will run in numerical order, counterclockwise.

Click here to see a live map that will be updated with “in progress,” “up next,” or “completed” once collection begins.

Collection will happen every Saturday until all zones are complete. At this point, it’s hard to say how long collection in each zone will take, but public works should get a better idea once things get going.

Here are a few more bits of information you should know:

What should I do with branches?
Please gather the branches and set them out at your usual yard waste collection point. No need to bundle or bag them. Please do not block sidewalks, alleys, gutters, or streets.

What should I do with large trees?
Please cut them into sections and set them out at your usual yard waste collection point without blocking sidewalks, alleys, gutters, or streets.

When should I set things out?
Please get everything to the collection point before Saturday 7/30 and leave them out. Our “extras” collection trucks will also collect debris on scheduled Mondays. (Extras schedule here: https://www.billingsmtpublicworks.gov/.../City-of...)

Can I take them to the landfill myself?
Yes, and in fact, we will waive the weight limit for our residents who bring in brush and yard waste during the next few weeks.

Please call Public Works Solid Wate Division at (406) 657-8285 for assistance using the map or to report a concern/suggested update. For additional information, questions, or concerns regarding Public Works please visit billingsmtpublicworks.gov or follow our Facebook page @billingsmtpublicworks.
